To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner, Fireworks by Grucci designed an unforgettable firework display that created a 900 ft wide x 600 ft high American Flag.

The flag was illuminated over Fort McHenry, Maryland on September 13, 2014 and was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “largest pyrotechnical image” ever.

The record-setting image of an American flag was the centerpiece of the largest fireworks show in Baltimore’s history. Check out the video below for the amazing display.

Fireworks by Grucci manufactured all the products in its Virginia facility employing a patented “PixelBurst” technology to illuminate the massive flag in the sky above Fort McHenry. “The PixelBurst shell, an innovation we have been developing for the past 5 years, creates a single dot (pixel) in the sky,” said Grucci. “When you connect those dots and trigger them with a proprietary precision computer chip instead of a traditional firework fuse, you can sequence and display a pixelated image like what you see on a computer screen.” [source]
