Picture of the Day: Watch Your Step
WATCH YOUR STEP
In this dramatic photograph by Florin Biscu, we see Les Dents du Midi as seen from Champoussin, Switzerland. We also see a hut hanging precariously over the edge of a seemingly steep drop (could just be the angle). Unfortunately I was unable to find out too much about the hut. If you recognize it, please let us know about it in the comments!
Les Dents du Midi (French: “The Teeth of the South”) are a multi-summited mountain situated in the Chablais Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais. They are composed of seven distinct summits and reach a height of 3257 metres (10,686 feet). Dominating the Val-d’Illiez and the Rhône Valley, to the south it faces the Lac de Salanfe, an artificial reservoir. Geologically it makes up a part of the massif Haut-Giffre. [Source: Wikipedia]
