In this incredible capture by photographer Jason Arney we see a dazzling field of sunflowers in Daisetsuzan National Park (Taisetsuzan) in Hokkaido, Japan. Jason submitted this photo to Gizmodo’s Summer Shooting Challenge, taking home first prize for this amazing shot. The challenge was to capture a photo of summer.

To get the shot Jason said he used the following settings: D800E, Apeture Priority EV-0.3, AF-S NIKKOR (14-24mm f/2.8G ED) @ 19mm f/5.6, ISO 100.

At 2,267.64 square kilometres (875.54 sq mi), Daisetsuzan is the largest national park in Japan. Daisetsuzan, meaning “great snowy mountains”, features 16 peaks over 2,000 metres (6,600 ft). The park offers some of the most rugged scenery in Japan. Asahidake (2,290 metres (7,510 ft)), located in the north of the park, is the highest peak in Hokkaido.
