Finding the Locations of Popular Movie Scenes

by twistedsifter

FILMography (FILM + photography) is an ongoing project by Christopher Moloney (@Moloknee) where he finds the actual locations of popular movie scenes and takes a composite image of the movie scene in front of the real-world location it was shot at.

Moloney, a journalist living in New York City, said the idea came to him on his way to work one day. His commute took him through Central Park where he recognized a number of landmarks and locations where famous movie scenes had been filmed. He then decided to print out stills from the movie and place them in front of the present-day location, carefully getting the angle and perspective to match.

The result is an ongoing Tumblr site that currently contains 250+ photos. Be sure to visit FILMography to see the complete archive of Chris’s fantastic work!
