Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s Rubber Duck has made its first visit to China. From May 2 – June 9, the 16.5 meter (54 ft) inflatable rubber duck will be bobbing around from Ocean Terminal to Harbour City, Hong Kong. Hofman’s inflatable rubber duck has already visited 12 cities in 10 countries.

The 16.5 meter rubber duck is second in size only to the colossal 26-meter rubber duck Hofman created in 2007 at Saint-Nazaire, France. Why a rubber duck you ask? Hofman explains:

“The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn’t discriminate people and doesn’t have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them. The rubber duck is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!”
