Tim Jeffs is an artist and illustrator best known for his intricate and highly detailed drawings of animals. Using only black ink (Holbein drawing ink) and black ball point pens (0.7 Uni-ball Power Tank Retractable), Jeffs continues to bring animals to life through his ongoing series of portrait illustrations.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Jeffs explains:
“In every drawing I try to capture the unique quality of each particular animal. I have also always enjoyed the dramatic nature that drawing in black and white offers. All of my work is done in pen and ink. This medium challenges me to not look back. No erasing or redoing means a pure and true end result.”
On a random side note, Tim mentions on his ‘about me‘ page that he was a founding member of heavy metal band White Zombie and that lead singer Rob Zombie, was his college roomate at Parsons.
