You Know Those Cheesy Thrift Shop Paintings? This Guy Adds Monsters to Them

Have you ever been inside a thrift shop and wondered, ‘who buys those cheesy landscape paintings’? Well the person responsible for at least seven of those purchases is Chris McMahon, an artist and illustrator from the United States. While he has an entire portfolio of original artworks on deviantART, McMahon gained online notoriety when he started painting monsters into the landscapes of thrift store paintings.

All works are acrylic on canvas and what I find most impressive is how well Chris manages to seamlessly blend the monsters with their environment. It’s as if they were always there!
