To commemorate the 75th anniversary of “Batman”, Warner Home Entertainment Mexico in conjunction with the Mexican Museum of Design MUMEDI, organized an exhibition inviting 30 artists to modify an effigy of the iconic character.
Kimbal was one of the 30 artists invited to participate in the exhibition and he used the Mayan God Camazotz as the inspiration for his sculpture. In Maya mythology, Camazotz was a bat god. Camazotz means “death bat” in the K’iche’ language and in Mesoamerica, the bat was associated with night, death, and sacrifice. [source]
