A Showerhead on Kickstarter Just Raised $2M and Was Even Backed by Apple’s CEO

nebia shower kickstarter (16)

The Nebia shower promises a superior experience with 70% less water. Considering it’s an activity most people do daily, that’s a lot of water.

The San Francisco based startup has already raised a staggering $2 million USD with nearly a month left in their Kickstarter campaign. Let’s find out what’s so special about this showerhead grabbing all of the headlines.

Nebia is a fully self-installed shower system with an adjustable bracket and a portable wand. It atomizes water into millions of tiny droplets covering 10 times more surface area than your regular shower. To do this, the team incorporated technology used in aeronautical applications (i.e., rocket science) to optimize every aspect of their shower nozzle, resulting in their patent-pending H2MICRO™ technology.

“Showers have been the same for 100 years. Not only do we need a more efficient solution, we need an all around better experience in our daily routines… It turns out the age old belief that that more water equals a better experience isn’t necessarily true.”

– Philip Winter, Co-Founder and CEO

The head is built from a high density polymer with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The Bracket is made of anodized aluminum and attaches to your water supply. It adheres to your wall without breaking your bathroom tile. The bracket houses an internal channel through which water flows to the head and wand.
