The Depths of the Ocean to Scale (at least what we know of it)

 

In this fascinating (and slightly terrifying) infographic, we see the amazing depths of the “known” ocean to scale. As we’ve only mapped about 10% of the world’s oceans, it’s quite possible an even deeper point than the Challenger Deep exists.

The Challenger Deep is the deepest known point in the Earth’s seabed hydrosphere, with a depth of 10,898 to 10,916 m (35,755 to 35,814 ft). It is in the Pacific Ocean, at the southern end of the Mariana Trench. [source]
