A monster sinkhole opened up in Fukuoka, Japan earlier this month, swallowing large sections of the road and traffic lights with it. The shocking event was caught on video and left a gaping hole 30 meters (98 ft) long, 27 meters (88 ft) wide and 15 meters (49 ft) deep.
Even more impressive is that crews working around the clock were able to repair the sinkhole in 48 hours! Workers filled the section with 6,200 cubic metres of sand and cement and the city’s mayor claimed the road was now 30 times stronger
