Being excited about eating something only to find someone else ate it is just the worst.
This woman’s husband made the mistake of eating her entire small pack of fruity candy without asking and she was MAD.
But after some consideration, she is now wondering if she’s in the wrong for being so upset about it.
Let’s analyze the situation.
AITA for getting mad that he ate my candy????
My (52-year-old woman) husband (54-year-old man) and I just went on an overseas trip.
At the airport on the way home we had some foreign currency we wanted to spend, so we went to a sundries store to get some snacks for the plane.
The only thing I got was a small pack of some fruity candy that I used to love when we lived in England.
As a side note, I do not have a huge sweet tooth, my husband does, and I rarely purchase, or eat, candy.
So this was really special candy.
I happen to think that British candy tastes way better than American candy.
I ended up not eating them on the plane, because I wasn’t feeling well due to a very turbulent 11-hour flight.
We got home 10 days ago, and I put my candy in the pantry to have another day.
I just decided that something sweet and fruity sounded really good, and when I went to look for my candy, it was gone!
Can you feel her pain? I can. But her husband doesn’t get it.
I asked him if he had eaten it, and he said he did, because he “didn’t think I would eat it”. Didn’t ask, didn’t mention it, until I asked him.
I got really upset, told him he’s selfish and only thinks about himself, told him I would never help myself to something I know he bought because he really likes it, etc.
Hopefully, he won’t do this again after she expressed how it made her feel.
The biggest reason I got so mad, is because after we got home he bought an industrial size bag of gummy bears from Costco… Which I don’t like because they are hard to chew, and I feel like they’re going to pull out dental work.
So instead of eating one of his one million little bags of gummy bears, he ate my special candy.
AITA????
He could surprise her with a new pack of the same candy and some understanding.
