Sit on this chair and “dont move!”
I remembered this event from my childhood recently. I was like… 6 maybe?
I did something “bad,” and my mom punished me by making me sit on a chair in the kitchen as some cool-down time or something.
But this kid decided she was going to get back at her mom.
I remember feeling like I was wronged somehow, and I decided I’d make her feel sorry she punished me.
So, I tried really hard and eventually wet my pants because she told me to “not move!”
Her plan worked like a charm.
I guess it worked. She let me get up and was apologizing a lot.
I finally told her about it last night, but she didn’t remember.
She couldn’t help but crack up about it, looking back.
I was crying laughing because it seems like such a crappy thing for a kid to do.
Sorry, Mom!
At least now, they can both laugh about it.
What did Reddit think?
Some kids look back and end up wishing they rebelled more.
Sometimes kids are the ones who end up schooling the adults.
Punishments are harder to enforce with exceptionally stubborn children.
Not all kids can say they won time out like this.
