Human beings are undoubtedly amazing for many reasons. But to some, that’s a topic of debate.
In today’s story, a man shares how he started a conversation with another man about how humans really aren’t better than “other animals”, but it seems that his timing wasn’t good.
Since his friend was upset, he’s wondering if he said something wrong.
Let’s read the whole story and see what people are saying.
AITA for saying humans aren’t better than any other animal?
Hi, so, I (24m) was having a conversation with this guy (27m), and he was talking about being treated like an animal in some situation.
(He wasn’t. I was there, he was annoyed because the waiter told us to use the outside seating because there was no room indoors for us).
I went along with it, hoping he was just having a bad day, and blurted out “what’s makes us better than animals?”.
But it upset him.
He got offended and was like “what is that supposed to mean?”
And I said “humans aren’t much different to humans if you think about it, biologically we are the same, and although we may have our own moral code, when do we abide by it?”
He was like “we are better than them because we are civilised people who have patience and are not instinctual beasts”.
So I said “you were just getting mad at being sat outside for a valid reason…”
That was a bit of a wild take.
Let’s see how Reddit reacted to this.
He wanted to vent.
Oh my.
It’s sad.
Another reader shares their opinion.
Yup.
Food for thought.
What about the animals that are treated like human babies?
Why not ask the big questions?
