If you’ve ever been involved in a property dispute, you know it can get UGLY…

Because people can be totally unreasonable!

Check out what this homeowner had to say on Reddit and see if you think he’s doing anything wrong when it comes to dealing with his neighbor.

WIBTA if I trimmed a hedge and trees that are on my property to make room for a fence against my neighbor’s wishes?

“We recently purchased a new home that doesn’t have a fence with full intentions on building one. Mainly because I want to give my dog space to let loose without me worrying about him getting out.

Anyway, we hired a tree removal service to come soon to trim away hedges and a couple large evergreens so the fence workers can have space to put it up. Note: The tree and hedge line are on the back so they separate our house and the house BEHIND us.

My boyfriend decided to go over to the neighbor as a courtesy to let them know what we’d be doing.

Now what?

Apparently this is an elderly woman (80-90s) and according to her daughter she says these hedges and trees are hers, thus she would be very upset if they were trimmed or cut down entirely.

According to our fence guy who measured everything, they technically are in our property and we would only trim them on our side.

If we went forward with it anyway, would be wrong?”
