Wedding season often brings about more stress than peace and love.
What would you do if you were invited to two weddings in the same weekend? One guy recently shared this dilemma with Reddit. Here’s what went down.
WIBTA for not attending my good friend’s wedding?
I (27M) have a good pal getting married on August 26th (M).
We met when I was 19 he was 18 and we worked in fast food together.
The strongest bonds are formed in restaurants.
I moved away for college at 21, and remained in contact until post-grad where I moved to a different state from where we met and where he still lives.
Now, to the wedding: he’s getting married on a Monday (yes, Monday) and it’s a minimum 4-hour flight away.
Yikes, that’s a hike.
However, I will be at ANOTHER wedding that weekend before, which I had committed to already and I am in that wedding as a groomsman.
We don’t talk as much as before, but have stayed in decent contact/see each other when I’m in his city and he’s in mine.
That’s typical of adult friendships.
However.
A Monday after another wedding that’s also in an another state?
Am I being lazy? Or WIBTA?
That’s certainly a good bit of traveling. Let’s see what the Reddit verdict was.
The comments immediately offered some perspective.
And offered some reassurance.
One person made a good point.
Another tried to help out.
But someone summarized it all well.
Loyalties will be tested at these weddings.
