Folks, I’m gonna go ahead and say it…

This story is kind of sad!

Because we all knew a kid growing up whose parents didn’t care all that much and they were dirty.

I’m not talking about your basic dirtiness that all kids have, I mean they looked unkempt.

In today’s story, a father explained why he doesn’t want his kids playing with the little girl next door…

And he has some good reasons.

Let’s take a look!

Help with our next door neighbor (she’s 9).

“My household consists of my 4 year old, my 9 year old stepchild and my girlfriend.

I am a 36 year old small business owner and she is a high school teacher. We have a little girl who lives next door who’s almost 9. Her and my stepchild and my 4 year old are simply inseparable.

The 9 neighbor girl is a very good kid. Kind, well behaved, polite, says please and thank you. Amazing with my 4 year old.

This is a bit concerning…

However, they are simply not the cleanest people. That is okay with us if they are not, It’s not our business. With that being said that uncleanliness is starting to appear to us like child neglect. The neighbor girl is always dirty.

We only saw her in one set of clothes all summer long. She is at the age where she has body odor. She seems to be hungry more and more when she comes over. She is currently not allowed in our house because she came over for a sleepover with a lice cap on.

Gross!

We asked her if she had lice which she said she did but her parents just told her to put a lice cap on. I reached out to the father via text and asked him why the hell he would do that and his response was something to the effect of “that wasn’t his department, she may have it, but he didn’t really know.”

Me and my girlfriend are pretty torn up about it and not sure what to do. I do maintain a mutually respectful relationship with the parents who live right by us.

Calling CPS is a last resort.

I do not think they would get involved due to the state we live in as long as there is a roof over her head and something in the fridge. We’ve bought her clothes but they are just never washed and eventually seem to disappear.

We are looking for some advice on how to handle this gently but effectively.”
