If you have a nice snow blower, it can be really helpful to plow the sidewalks for all your neighbors if you have time.
What would you do if you made it a habit to snow blow the whole neighborhood, but then one of your neighbors complained about the noise?
That is what happened to the guy in this story, so when it snowed 17” while the neighbor was out of town, he left it all in place, leaving a huge area of ice for his neighbor when he got back.

I have a sweet snowblower and I love to help out my neighbors by doing the whole block. I’m that guy.
No big deal; he can skip that guy’s house.
After a moderate snow a few years (6″) my neighbor told me that he’s ‘very sensitive to noise’ and not to snowblow in front of his house.
So, later that same winter we got 17″. I got every house on the block front and back, except for his.
He is going to come home to a big mess.
Even better he was out of town, the weather warmed slightly for an afternoon then dropped again so his 17″ of snow became a wall to wall glacier.
I live in Wisconsin. This is how we entertain ourselves in the winter.
Honestly, I don’t think the neighbor was doing anything wrong. And this guy was right to stop plowing his home. There is no conflict here.

I’m surprised anyone would not want their sidewalk cleared for free.
What he did was very generous, but that doesn’t mean his neighbor has to want it in the future. Sometimes it seems that people go out of their way to be offended.
It is perfectly acceptable for someone to not want their neighbor to snowblow their sidewalk.
