Kids in school often feel like they are being mistreated even when it is simply the consequences of their own behavior.

What would you do if you were in detention and the teacher in charge kept telling you that you weren’t allowed to do things like watch physics videos, work on a graphic calculator, or even use Google?

That is what happened to the student in this story, so he got upset with the teacher and thinks it is unfair.

Personally, I think this kid needs to learn to follow the rules and stop causing trouble. Read through the full rant below and see if you agree.

AITA for trying to do my school work, PS rant

So I’m in like some detention class in school because I did something admittedly stupid, but right now all I care about is getting my grades and stuff done so I can actually pass High-school.

Let’s see what happened.

Then my teacher, call her B for heh, you know caused some issues.

So, I don’t know, like just a bit ago today I guess I’m sitting and I do and I’m watching some physics videos because 1, for university because I plan to grow and get a degree through online while attending High-school, and 2, because I’m literally in a physics class.

Well, he should be paying attention in class.

And my teacher tells me, “HEY, OP GET OFF OF THAT, YOU ARENT IN PHYSICS,” so I look at her and weirdly say “… yes I am?”

She quiets for a minute, and later goes on the exact same tirade and blocks what I was using to watch my physics courses so I just look at her like “bro, what the heck, man: and move on to math.

Why can’t he just pay attention to the teacher or do the work they are asking of him?

I love graphing and algebra and if possible I always use it in every math problem I do and hence forth this.

I pulled up a 3D graphing Sim for more manageability and she blocks that and then proceeds to go on a power play about how I’m not supposed to have all this open, and then I ask her, “well can I use graphing paper?”

He will do anything except what he is told.

At which point she said later, and so I give in and I’m just chilling in my seat trying not to give up and head to the school office and then she randomly blocks google, straight up google.

I ask if she literally just blocked google, no response, so I test out googling something and it is blocked, so I say, “hmm, didn’t know you could do that” and I go on.

If he wants to pass classes, he should do as he is told.

Except she accuses me of trying to cheat on my physics class. Like what 😭. I try and make an attempt at calmly explaining to her that I was, in fact, just seeing if you actually blocked google and I didn’t know it was possible.

She said I was getting on her nerves and she could block stuff all day I said “bro I’m just trying to get my grades so I can actually pass.”

The teacher doesn’t have to show respect.

B says “I’m jot playing these games with you, respect me or get more days in detention.”

And I said, “you sure aren’t playing respect either,” and B called my grandma and now I’m sitting at the office abt to leave.

It is so clear that this is a young and immature student who doesn’t realize that he is in the wrong. What is so hard about following instructions?

Part of school is learning how to listen and follow instructions. This student clearly has a problem staying focused, and the teacher is trying to correct that.

Unfortunately, he is not getting the lesson at all. Instead, he just plays the victim.
