Stories like this one really make me see red.
Because defenseless animals don’t have a choice who adopts them and it’s totally unfair to them when someone who isn’t a good owner chooses them…and then goes back on their word.
A woman wrote the story below and explained why she’s upset with a friend of hers who sounds totally irresponsible.
Take a look at what she had to say about this.
WIBTA for calling out my friend who’s talking about surrendering her cat?
“My friend, we’ll call her Sarah (22F) has 4 cats Bruce (8M), Cinnamon (2-3F), Moe (4 monthM), and Curly (4 monthF).
She adopted Cinnamon as a stray maybe like a year ago and she wasn’t spayed but continued to let her roam outside. Of course because of this, Cinnamon got pregnant and had Moe and Curly.
This is so irresponsible…
Instead of spaying her after she had the kittens, Sarah and her dad just let it go because it was expensive. Which of course with being an indoor-outdoor cat Cinnamon is now pregnant again.
Only this time Sarah and her dad just want to drop her off at the shelter because it’s too expensive to get an abortion and get her spayed.
How awful!
This means Moe and Curly will be separated from their mom and their mom is just gonna be thrown back into a shelter because they were irresponsible pet owners.
To top it all off, she plans on at least keeping Moe and will get him spayed with her own money as soon as he’s old enough. Which I believe they are just about old enough as usually that happens between 4-6 months?
I just don’t think it’s very fair to the cats involved and I think she’s a bad cat owner if she’s taking these animals in when she can’t afford medical care for them.
I know there are many resources that will help with a spay/neuter but it seems like she didn’t even try to reach out for support.
Would I be wrong if I called her out on this?”

Her friend is a real piece of work, huh?
I feel sorry for these cats!
And that’s an understatement!
Some people simply shouldn’t own pets…
