Folks…

This is scandalous!

And I don’t say that word very often!

But when a person did what this woman’s co-worker did…well, let’s just say that I don’t think I’m over-exaggerating one little bit.

Check out what she had to say about why her fellow employee’s actions got her fired from her job.

Start now!

Coworker recorded me for months. I got fired the same day. He got promoted into half my job.

“I’m 28F.

Worked at a small office for a few years. Nothing exciting, but I actually liked it there. Did my work, kept to myself, never had drama with anyone.

About a year ago a new guy joined. At first he seemed really nice. Too nice, looking back. Always offering to help, would stay late, chat about whatever. Sometimes it was just the two of us after everyone else left, both at our own desks.

This all seemed totally normal.

I’d be on my phone zoning out, playing some games out of boredom or check my payouts from shuffle. He’d be working or also just sitting there. Normal and nothing weird about it.

Over time we talked more. Not friends exactly, but enough that I stopped filtering every word. Just the usual stuff people say at work. Management not knowing what they’re doing. The workload split being strange. That feeling where the whole place is somehow running on like three people.

Didn’t think any of it mattered. Two weeks ago HR calls me in and starts reading my own words back to me. Word for word.

What was this all about?

I genuinely didn’t understand what was happening at first. Then they started listing conversations I remember clearly, and I remember them because I only ever said that stuff to him.

That’s when they told me there were recordings. He’d been recording me. Not once but regularly.

What the hell?

Whoa…what a jerk!

They played me some clips. Pulled out of context it does sound bad, I’ll give them that. Like I’m just constantly whining and trashing the company.

I tried to explain that these were two coworkers venting, that’s it. They didn’t care.

Fired same day.

This is crazy!

Worst part, I found out afterwards that he got a promotion and basically absorbed part of my position. I’m in a strange headspace about it now.

Part of me knows I probably shouldn’t have been that open at work. And part of me can’t process how you do that to someone you sit next to every day and talk to normally.

Now I have no idea how to trust anyone in an office again.”
