He’s Stopped Caring About the Company or His Abusive Boss, and Now He’s Deliberately Wasting Time at Work—Betting They Won’t Do Anything About It

Working can be a huge chore that makes you extremely unhappy.

Often something toxic in the work environment makes you lose interest in the work.

See why this worker has earned his contempt for his employer.

I DO NOTHING

Some days, I log on and put myself in a meeting with myself on Teams so I stay active. I log into the phones. Open SAP. Then go straight back to bed. Or have a shower. Read.

Anything but my stupid job.

Sounds like this person is ill-suited to a tech job. Not someone I’d want on my team.

Today I pretended my systems didn’t work so I had the day to do other priorities.

I don’t care about bad stats. I don’t care about the people or the company. I just don’t care. I want a redundancy.

I should leave. But I work from home everyday.

Can chill with my cats. Be in my pjs. Get paid enough to support myself with no credit cards. Get paid overtime IF I want to do it.

Nevermind, these people don’t deserve good workers. Yikes.

I just don’t care. Too much nonsense has happened at this company and directly to me.

The team leader verbally abusing me and others through yelling. Really bad yelling. More has happened of course, but not getting into it.

I know it’s bad what I’m doing. But I do not care. Fuck corporate. Fuck this company. Screw my manager and team leader and the sales team.

I know I’m not the only one.

Here is what folks are saying.

If I could, I’d do a side hustle. It’s a great way to gently ease into something new.

Yelling is a dealbreaker for me. I told a rude client I wouldn’t return to work for their next event.

This sucks. Can’t relate. Why do so many boomers care about bums in seats so much?

I can’t disagree with this more. Fulfillment and dignity are a thing.

Another reason I don’t charge per hour!

Worker does nothing and has an awful boss, but gets paid so doesn’t care about company goals.
