Have you ever ordered something that was supposed to be delivered to your house, but when you got the delivery notification nothing was outside?

One great thing about a lot of modern day deliveries is that the delivery driver takes a picture of the delivery. This can be helpful so you know exactly where to look. It can also be helpful if you look at the picture and realize it wasn’t actually delivered to your house.

What would you do if you looked at the picture and realized it was delivered to your neighbor’s house?

In this story, one man is in this situation, and he walked over to pick up his delivery. Now, he’s having second thoughts about how he handled the situation. He’s worried the neighbor will thing he’s creepy.

AITA for walking to my neighbour’s house at 11 PM to get my groceries that were delivered to the wrong address?

So this happened 20 minutes ago.

I ordered Ubers Eats at 10 PM.

When it got delivered, the delivery driver took a picture of the groceries that I ordered and when I looked at the pic, I realized they delivered it to my next door neighbour’s porch.

When I saw the pic, my reaction was long inhale. Then I put on my shoes and gone to my neighbour’s house.

OP decided to write a note.

When I was walking through their driveway, I saw that all of their lights are off including the living room so that means they were sleeping.

So I walked back into my house, then wrote a note. It went like “hey we are from Unit *** I ordered groceries and they delivered it to the wrong house. If you had any questions, give me a knock.”

Idk why I added the last part. I’m to much of wimp to answer the door for anyone except when I’m expecting a package.

Now he feels creepy.

I put the note on their door, took the groceries, and went back into my house.

Now I feel creepy that I did that at this time but on the other hand, I paid for the groceries and I shouldn’t waste food like that or whatever.

AITA?

If the neighbor has a Ring camera or other security camera and wonders why he was taking something off their porch late at night, the note will clear up the situation and make it a non-issue. I don’t think it was creepy to leave a note.

I completely agree with this comment.

That’s awful that so many people steal the groceries when they’re delivered to their house by mistake!

I’m trying to think what I would do in that situation. If I noticed food I didn’t order outside and it was perishable, I might bring it inside and refrigerate it so it wouldn’t go bad. There would be no way to know who it belongs to. But it would be worth waiting at least a little while in case the rightful owner comes to claim it.

Really, the delivery driver messed up. OP needs to report this situation to Uber.
