Buying a family car requires decisions about appearance and long-term costs.
The following story involves a man who disagreed with his wife about getting white seats for their new car.
He worried that their two toddlers would make the white seats difficult to clean and maintain.
He also wanted a cheaper car so they could save for a bigger house, but his wife seemed to have a different plan.

AITA for telling my wife we can’t have white car seats with toddlers?
We are looking for a new car to buy.
My wife is adamant that she wants white-colored seats, company-fitted.
We have two toddlers at home. I told her it will be very difficult to maintain them.
Getting them cleaned every other month will cost more money.
This man argued that they should choose black car seats instead.
In the long run, the white will turn yellow with use, and hence I think black-colored seats are better.
They don’t look dirty. And she is now mad at me.
I also told her I don’t think we can buy a 55K-worth car because I want to save money for a bigger house.
And she literally asked me why can’t we stay in a rental for life. I just kept quiet and left the room.
AITA?
