That feeling of dread that we all get from time to time is no joke, folks!
It comes in all different forms, but one of the worst ones to deal with is that sneaking suspicion that your job might not be around much longer…
That’s the one that really causes you to lose a lot of sleep!
That’s what the guy who wrote this story is dealing with, and he talked about how it’s causing him a lot of heartburn.

Modern work is alienating.
“34, living in Italy. The economic situation here is a mess.
A lot of young people are leaving the country because there are no job opportunities, or because wages are ridiculously low.
I have a degree in Economics and I make less than €10 an hour. I feel more like a slave than an employee.
My boss is a multimillionaire who inherited his wealth. He owns 14 cars, countless houses… while I can’t even afford a mortgage on a tiny apartment in the worst part of the city.
Yikes…
Lately, my workload has dropped dramatically.
I spend eight hours pretending to be busy because I’m terrified he’ll start laying people off.
Today I looked at my phone just to keep myself from going insane during eight hours of having absolutely nothing to do.
My boss noticed and gave me a huge dressing-down.
This guy’s boss sounds pretty brutal.
He has never paid me for a single hour of overtime, even when I used to work extra hours.
He also sends me on errands using my own car, and I have to pay for the gas, parking, and everything else myself.
Sometimes I take Xanax just to get through the day.
I feel like a slave.”
