Apartment complex keeps asking for more proof of income.

“This is in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is my first time applying for an apartment (I’ve always rented houses) and they require 2 times rent as monthly income (rent is $1400. I make right around $3500-$3800 average, sometimes more because I do commission work along with my normal job).

Hmmm…

I sent over pay stubs directly from my bank, and the rental company said they can’t verify them.

They then asked to see my recent bank statement, because they want to see my transaction history.

I sent those over and they’re still saying I don’t make enough (I had $7500 deposited this month?) and now they want to see a bank statement with a year’s worth of rent available as the balance.

What is going on here…?

They’ve already taken my application fee and my deposit, but they’re acting like they aren’t going to approve me.

Maybe I’m just new to this, but this all feels kinda weird?
