Folks, I’m not gonna lie…
This is a pretty strange story.
And it’s yet another example of just how bizarre some people can be…
A woman opened up about the conflict she’s having with her roommate about their respective work situations.
And we think you’re gonna be surprised about what’s causing the tension.
Read on, and see what you think.
AITA for taking a job at the same restaurant as my roommate/best friend after she asked me not to?
“My best friend and roommate recently got hired at a sushi restaurant.
Yesterday, she was three hours late to her orientation.
I ended up driving her there, and while I was talking to the owner, I realized I already knew him from social circles (parties/clubs).
That was easy!
The owner assumed I was there to apply as well and offered me a position as a server/bartender.
I have been actively looking for part-time work, so I decided to accept the position.
The next day, my roommate told me she doesn’t want me working there. Her reasoning is that she is afraid I will make fun of her or call her a “weirdo” in front of our coworkers.
We have a long-standing “roast-heavy” dynamic where we tease each other constantly.
This is weird…
She frequently does bizarre things intentionally (like barking, meowing, or intentionally making noises in public) and I will call her a “weirdo” or tease her for it.
I assured her that I am perfectly capable of keeping things strictly professional, and I suggested that since we live together, we could simply pretend we don’t know each other while on the clock to avoid any awkwardness.
Despite my reassurances, she is adamant that I shouldn’t work there.
She still wants the job.
I told her I am going to move forward with the job anyway because I need the income and the opportunity happened naturally.
She is now very upset with me and thinks I’m being a bad friend.
AITA for taking the job despite her explicit request?”

Am I crazy, or is this weird?
It’s weird, right?
I sure think so…good grief…
Maybe these two shouldn’t be roommates anymore…
