Folks, I’m gonna be honest with you about something…
I think my #1 pet peeve is people who won’t get out of my way when I’m at the grocery store.
It never ends!
It seems like there’s some kind of laser that hits people in the brain when they walk into the store and they suddenly lose all ability to stay out of my way.
Ugh!
The person you’re about to hear from knows all about this, and they talked about how they handled their situation while shopping.
Let’s take a look.
Bumper carts in grocery aisle.
“Today while grocery shopping, I was walking down an aisle and a woman entered toward me from the other end.
She parked her cart sideways in the middle of the aisle and proceeded to look at some items.
I continued walking slowly toward her and she made no move to slide her cart out of the way.
Excuse me?!?!
There was barely enough room for me to get by.
Rather than scrape my cart along the aisle and potentially knock stuff over, I bumped my cart against hers and moved it a couple inches so I could get by.
She looked at me shocked when her cart moved.
I maintained eye contact and stared right at her as I squeezed by. I did not say excuse me or ask her to move her cart. Why should I?
Out of the way, lady!
She knew what she did by parking her cart sideways in the middle of the aisle.
I shouldn’t have to ask permission to get by because she’s selfish with no spatial awareness.
She mumbled something under her breath and moved her cart a bit as I turned the corner. I did not acknowledge her further.
No regrets.”
