Getting a new dog is exciting, but it can quickly turn stressful when no one agrees on the rules.

One woman worried about that from the start because her parents had never been great about training their pets.

Sure enough, by the second day, they were already feeding the new dog table scraps instead of letting him get used to his kibble.

Then things got more serious when they tried to give him grapes without realizing they can be dangerous for dogs.

That was enough for her to finally snap and say she wouldn’t keep doing all the hard parts of training by herself.

Yesterday, my parents adopted a dog because my sister took hers when she moved.

I’m grateful for that because they’re awful owners: they only like playing, feeding table scraps, and petting, but never train, walk, or set rules. With the last dog, my sister did everything.

When they said they were adopting, I was happy for the dog but didn’t want one while living with them. Training is **** because they allow everything: begging for our food, biting, and destroying things.

Apparently, they don’t even know how to feed a dog.

Yesterday, after picking him up, the vet recommended a natural kibble. I want the dog to get used to his kibble because my mom and I have no time to cook extra, and my dad is too lazy to do it.

The problem: on day two, he won’t touch his kibble because my parents keep giving him everything they eat, ruining his training.

Worse, they try to give him ANYTHING, not knowing what’s harmful besides chocolate.

Frustrated, she snapped on them.

I’ve done a lot of research myself since I plan to get a pet when I move out with my partner, so I know which human foods are safe or toxic; they don’t. Today, they tried grapes, which cause kidney failure. I’m scared they’ll kill him without realizing it.

When I saw that, I snapped and told them that if they keep doing whatever they want, I’ll only walk him and prevent him from dying, but I WON’T train or do the uncomfortable things they avoid.

I feel bad because it’s not the dog’s fault, and I love him, but I’m tired of my effort being thrown away. That’s why I didn’t want a dog in this house.
