It’s pretty amazing to hear stories about how some folks lately have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to be considered for a job.

Look, I know it can be a lengthy process to get hired on somewhere, but this is over the top!

And, at the end of the day, a lot of time and effort is being wasted.

In today’s story, a man explained why he took himself out of the running for a job he applied to.

Recorded “interviews” are absurd… So this was my response.

“I was asked to do a one-way video screening for a job I had applied for.

I mean, seriously, you want a resume tailored to the job, a cover letter, and then a small filmed “tryout” before I deserve 15 seconds with an actual human being?

Not gonna happen!

Yeah, no.

I’m done with that whole thing.

So I sent this response:

Dear xxxxxxxx:

I was disappointed to see that xxxxxxxx chose to use the screening platform instead of putting time into a real person-to-person hiring process.

This is good!

Just as you are trying to find employees who are a good fit for your team, I am also trying to find employers who are a good fit for me.

Unfortunately, a company that treats potential employees like profiles on an app, to be skipped or accepted without any conversation, does not give me much confidence in how people will be treated after they are hired.

Please remove me from further consideration. Thank you!”

This is too much…

And it’s probably a good idea he got hit with this nonsense before he started working for them.

What a waste of time!

He wasn’t about to play around with a company that operated like this!
