Now, I’d like to add that doing that in your place of business isn’t always the greatest idea, but, when push comes to shove, you gotta do what you gotta do!
In today’s story, a man explained why he got into an intense screaming match with a co-worker.

“Look, I am no perfect employee. After 5 years working here I’m honestly just coasting by.
Just doing my work, keeping my head down and try not to rile up any of these old Boomers.
This worked out pretty well for him!
Strangely enough this has resulted in a couple of promotions and I am now a manager with seniority and too expensive to be fired. It has caused me not to give a single care about decorum, manners and respect to superiors WHEN I’m being yelled at.
I recognize if I screwed something up but if the error is because of a misunderstanding between national coworkers and Korean supervisors, then I just yell back.
Well today is Saturday and I came in to close payroll for Monday. I finished checking everything and sent the assistance, payroll and extra time files to my boss to check.
There was a misunderstanding with an employee extra working hours, where the system calculates per day and not by total extra time, the employee was short 10 minutes of extra time which would compound to his overtime next month.
This was quite a dispute…
He WOULD NOT understand this, kept yelling the real working hours were not right and wouldn’t hear my explanation.
At one point he started yelling, I said “there’s no need to raise our voices”, he kept yelling. I yelled back that he was not understanding what I was saying and there’s no need to get mad over a misunderstanding.
Well he used some not so nice Korean words after I said that and slammed the table.
Well screw you too, then I’m saying stuff back.
He wasn’t about to deal with this!
‘Wow you are using slurs now and you slammed the table, OH I’M SO SCARED, what, you think yelling and cursing makes someone scared? You are in Latin America, nobody here is scared of loud Koreans.’
Another boss came by and told me to relax, I yelled back “I WAS THE FIRST TO SAY LET’S RELAX AND HE KEPT YELLING”
Well he left for a smoke and when he came back he did so calmer and not yelling and we finished our meeting.
At the end he said he was sorry for yelling, I said I was sorry for yelling back but that there was never a need to raise our voices.
This dumb jerk actually says ‘I’m yelling because you make me raise my voice and get mad.’
Well, it’s not his fault…
Like I’m the one in charge of his actions, Grade A moron this guy. I told him ‘hey man, my employees sometimes make me mad too but I just take a deep breath and deal with it without yelling. Yelling is not going to fix anything and is just going to stress you, because honestly, I do NOT care if you yell nor am Intimidated by you yelling’
Water under the bridge…
We said sorry again and that was it.
This is Mexico by the way, I don’t know why these dumb Boomer Koreans think yelling at Latin Americans is okay. We really don’t play around on this continent. Screw around and hire a group of teens with 2,000 pesos to mess your stuff up.
