The following story is about a woman who struggled with neighbors whose children screamed loudly throughout the night.

She also noticed that they had a dog that constantly barked for hours every morning.

Now, she’s left feeling exhausted and frustrated, so she’s thinking about taking action once and for all.

Worst Neighbours we’ve ever had.

We live on the top floor of a block of flats. It’s only 3 floors, so it’s not a high rise.

A family moved in on the bottom floor directly below us a couple years ago.

I’ve never had “neighbours” like them.

They steal our Amazon parcels because they never come to the door, but that can be worked around.

It’s annoying, but it’s a horrible estate anyway, so expected.

This woman would hear constant violent screaming from their neighbors.

The thing I can’t accept is the constant screaming at 2/3 am.

I think they have an autistic daughter, so I do have some sympathy.

But the mother is the worst of all. When I say screaming, I don’t mean normal arguing.

I mean possessive, violent screaming.

I’ve called the police more than once because it sounds like someone is being attacked. Glass smashing, the lot.

This happens every single night and every single day. I’m not being dramatic either.

The neighbors also have a dog that barks continuously for 3 hours.

Then, just to add insult to injury, they have a dog that barks at anything that moves for hours on end.

It will start most of the time at around 7 am and stop hours later after constant barking.

Not on and off every few minutes. I’m talking 1 second between each bark, for 3-ish hours straight.

The one that bothers me most is the dog.

I don’t start work until later on, but the rest of my household work normal hours.

It’s a council flat, so there is no way they will get evicted.

She’s planning on contacting social services.

I’m genuinely thinking about contacting social services because those kids are not safe.

The screaming is between them and the mother every night.

It’s not like the mum is arguing with her mates or partner. It’s the kids.

Throwing glasses and screaming so loud her voice cracks. I can’t cope with this anymore.

Ugh! The combination of nightly screaming and hours of nonstop barking sounds incredibly difficult to live with.

OP’s concern for the children also seems reasonable given what she has heard.

I agree that contacting social services may be worth considering if she genuinely believes they are unsafe.
