Sometimes you’re the only person who notices a problem that needs fixing.
In this case, a man was looking after his sister-in-law’s cat and noticed that her claws were unusually sharp and seemed to be causing her discomfort.
When the cat eventually injured one of her claws and started bleeding, he naturally became worried that she might need medical attention.
Unfortunately, suggesting that the owner takes the cat to the vet didn’t exactly go over well.
And that’s when this simple pet-sitting favor became a family argument.

AITA for asking my SIL to take her cat to the vet?
I 30M feel like I’m freaking out over nothing here but I’m “babysitting” a cat for my SIL 29F and she has extremely sharp claws that I’ve noticed over the last two weeks I’ve had her.
She keeps getting them stuck in the carpet, in my skin, on everything and she seems very irritated around her paws so we planned to get trimmers today to trim them for her since we didn’t get anything.
But he seems to be the only one who cares.
I asked my wife 25F to contact her sister to see if she trimmed the claws before we got her and she said she never does because a scratching post is enough?
We weren’t even given a scratching post for the cat, we had to buy one for her but her claws are so sharp I pressed it.
She got very annoyed and said her vet said it was torture to trim their claws because it’s impossible to tell where the claw starts and where the nerves end.
But he thinks something should be done.
The cat has now ripped her claws out and I was freaking out and tried to clean it but the poor baby isn’t letting me anywhere near it, and she keeps licking and biting at her foot SIL said this is normal but I was pretty convinced she needed to go to the vet in case it got infected because it was bleeding.
SIL then screamed at us and said we were making her life so difficult and she didn’t understand why we couldn’t just ignore it since she did it all the time and if we were so worried then to do something about it.
It became an issue.
We tried to explain that because I’m disabled we can’t just take the cat to the nearest vet she’s registered to because that’s in another country.
She then got angry and said if I “was so bad then maybe you shouldn’t have a cat then.”
I’m just very confused and upset, I feel like I’m getting screamed at and the finger pointed at for nothing but if it gets infected I’ll be the one to blame so AITA for asking my SIL to take her cat to the vet?
What do I do here?? Should I force her to take the cat to the vet or is this a big nothing?
AITA?

Yup.
He’s barking at the wrong tree, honestly.
Take action, because some people just won’t help no matter how much you ask.
