Apparently, my niece was speeding, and now I owe a $200 ticket as it’s my car.

I confronted her and asked her to at least help pay.

But she refused, saying that it was my car and I should be responsible for it.

I decided to go to my sister (her mom) and try to reason with her.

But she sided with her as well.

He’s confused whether he should get mad at her or just let it go.

She started saying how she was a kid and it’s my responsibility as an adult.

I’m split now.

A part of me feels bad and wants to bail her out, while the other half feels angry as I trusted her to be responsible.

By the way, she didn’t get pulled over. It was a speeding camera.

Seriously? It was clearly the teenager’s fault. She was the one driving the car and got caught speeding!

I don’t think it’s fair for OP to shoulder the fine.

Being a teenager does not automatically make someone exempt from consequences, especially when they were trusted with someone else’s car.
