I’m currently in university.

I recently had a final exam for a course that isn’t super demanding, but still requires some studying.

There were about 40 of us taking the exam when one of my classmates brought her baby.

It wasn’t a newborn, but still very young. Naturally, the baby was being pretty noisy, mostly just laughing non-stop.

Of course, I don’t blame the kid at all.

This student couldn’t focus on her test.

The problem is that I’m really sensitive to loud noises.

So I started getting super anxious because I couldn’t focus on my test.

I asked the professor if I could take an oral exam instead, which is an option our uni offers.

He said no, but decided to move the girl and her baby to another classroom so the noise wouldn’t be an issue.

Everything went fine after that, and we all finished the exam.

The mother of the child texted and blamed her for making them move.

Later, though, the girl texted me kinda passive-aggressive.

Because “someone told her” I was the one who “complained” about her baby.

Honestly, I just needed a solution so I could concentrate better.

It’s unrealistic to expect a baby to sit quietly for hours.

Now, I’m somehow the “bad person.” Lol. I don’t feel like I did anything wrong, to be honest.

OP clearly has a point. Babies are not meant to be in a classroom where an ongoing test is happening.

However, the mother may not have any other option, that’s why she brought the baby along with her.

I think the professor’s solution was reasonable, allowing everyone to complete the test without making the baby the villain.
