Riding a public vehicle means riding with people who talk to each other.

In this story, a woman was riding a Greyhound bus with her husband and, of course, they were having a conversation.

Another passenger with a companion and a baby came up and asked them to stop talking.

The passenger complained that their conversation was too loud and was keeping her from resting.

I’m sitting quietly on the bus right now, just in case I was the jerk.

We’re taking a Greyhound bus from NYC to Baltimore.

This woman came on the bus with another woman and a young baby.

Right now it’s 9:20 pm, and she just asked my husband and I to stop talking so she could get rest.

She said we were “too loud.”

This woman thought the other lady’s request was unreasonable.

We don’t own a car and take public transit often.

We weren’t being loud, we spoke at a normal conversational tone.

My issue with this is that her friend with a baby is literally crying loudly right next to us.

So I feel like it’s unreasonable to say that our conversation is the reason that she can’t sleep.

She wanted to keep talking to her husband.

AITA if I keep talking to my husband?

I’m already bored scrolling on Reddit and it’s early as hell.

I imagine turning on the light to read the book would be a genuine jerk move.

So otherwise, I guess I can just brainrot until midnight.

Come on! That’s public transportation, and talking in public is not a crime.

I don’t think OP was unreasonable for wanting to have a normal conversation with her husband on a public bus.

If the other woman wanted some peace and quiet, they could have booked a taxi or a ride-sharing car.
