Relationships are supposed to be about balance.

You help each other out, you lend a helping hand when you can, and you generally do your best to pitch in and support your partner.

That sounds great, but we all know it doesn’t always work that way.

Take the woman you’re about to hear from, for instance.

She feels like she’s shouldering a lot of the burden in her household and all she’s asking for is some more help from her husband.

Check out what she had to say about this situation.

AITA for asking my husband to get up with baby before work?

“I ask my husband a few days a week to get up with our 7 month old baby from 7 am – 8 am before he works (from home).

Mind you, almost every day that I don’t wake him up he doesn’t wake up for work on time so he’d normally be sleeping during this time anyways.

Wow…

He gives me pushback every time saying that he “needs to get ready for work.”

And I say, you were sleeping anyway and I get very bad sleep with the baby all night, never waking my husband up at night.

I said I’d love if you took the baby by choice these mornings to do something nice for me.

And he said we both need to do nice things for each other then. Which, okay sure. I told him I’m not feeling appreciated to which he scoffed.

This is really wearing her down.

I exclusively breastfeed, am currently eating dairy and soy free for baby’s allergies, and work as a nurse two 12 hour shifts a week. He does A LOT with our kids and things are usually about 50/50.

This is our third child so he takes the older two (who aren’t always easy to get to bed but sleep through the night).

I’m conflicted typing this out because I see his perspective and he is usually right about EQ things.

I have more issues with mental health and usually have to apologize for being mean or in the wrong, but I do feel like I’m right on this one.

AITA?”
