It is considered taboo to wear white to someone’s wedding, and it’s even worse when someone in the bride or groom’s family decides to wear white.

In this story, a woman wears a white dress to her son’s wedding. The family realizes she might do this, so they plan a prank to ruin her dress.

Keep reading for the whole story.

My dad’s girlfriend is a JNMIL and she told me this fun story about a wedding prank.

My dad has been dating his current GF for a year and a half, and I think she is going to be the one long term.

She has never been anything but nice to me, but she is apparently a terror to her poor DIL who she is very very low contact with.

The story is about the son and DIL’s wedding.

Her son got married young and she was not supportive at all.

She felt like the bride was “entitled” and “wanted the family money” so she decided to do the classic JNMIL move and wear a white dress.

Well the bride’s family heavily suspected she would, and I guess they decided a spilled glass of wine was too boring, so they devised this lovely prank.

They took advantage of her profession.

She is a doctor, so one of the uncles laid on the ground and the dad pretended to freak out and grabbed her, knowing she is a doctor.

He was acting like he was having a heart attack, so she got down on the ground and started doing whatever a doctor would do (my dad wouldn’t be proud of me, he is a doctor too and had med school dreams for me)

The uncle spit fake blood all over her white dress.

Obviously this was pre-covid, and spitting on someone really isn’t cool either way, but I love the creativity.

She didn’t let them get to her.

She is good though. She didn’t miss a beat, laughed, and told them that was a hilarious prank and they really got her.

They were totally floored that she wasn’t upset, but she said right to her DIL that the dress served it’s purpose, and she made her scene, so oh well.

She told me she was pretty mad, but her motto is never let them see you get flustered.

My dad promised me if she pulled the same stunt at my wedding, we would think of an even better prank, not that I think she would. She is actually fairly lovely, unless you are her poor DIL.

Uh, she wore a white dress to her son’s wedding. The DIL has good reason to dislike her. I wonder why she’s intentionally being an awful MIL.

Another person thinks OP needs to watch out.

The dad’s girlfriend sounds awful. If I were OP, I’d try to get in touch with the DIL to find out the real deal on her. She needs to keep her distance, or else she’s going to be in the path of her wrath.

Yikes! That woman sounds awful!
