Wedding invites are tricky to deal with. They’re trickier when you don’t want to invite family.
This bride shares how she didn’t want to invite her husband’s brother and his fiancée to the wedding.
Check out what happened.
AITA for not wanting to invite my sister-in-law to my wedding
I (24F) am getting married to my fiancé (27M). His brother “Beck” (30M) recently married “Delilah” (29F).
I’m considering not inviting Delilah to our wedding due to several incidents that have happened since knowing her
She explains her reasons…
At a family Thanksgiving dinner hosted by my grandmother, Delilah and Beck arrived under the influence of multiple types of drugs (which I was not aware of beforehand).
She and Beck started acting weird and making it obvious they weren’t sober, and the situation became noticeable enough that within 20 minutes they were out the door after I told my fiancé they couldn’t be around my family like that.
I made excuses for them so my family wouldn’t freak out that someone around their kids were on several substances and to spare them the embarrassment of being kicked out.
That’s INSANE!
There have also been ongoing issues between Delilah and Beck, including frequent fights between the two when all 4 of us are in the house and in public along with most events they go to together Delilah ends up getting drunk and picking a fight with someone which worries me for someone being a wedding guest.
Delilah has also made negative comments about my fiancé to me that I later found out were not true and like easily proven to be false. Like it’s such random lies that doesn’t even make sense to lie about.
The most recent incident which broke the camel’s back happened when I was at my fiancé’s house, which he shares with Beck and Delilah.
This is where it gets worse!
They returned home after a fight while intoxicated, and the situation escalated into yelling between them. My fiancé and Beck began discussing the fight as I sat on the couch in silence watching this all go on.
Delilah then directed her anger toward me yelling in my face even though I was just there sitting in silence I don’t know if me not joining in angered her or what but she was screaming at me I removed myself from the situation leaving the house to take a breathe outside my fiancé was with me to make sure I was ok, but she followed me and my fiancé trying to continue trying to keep us part of her and Beck’s fight the situation became overwhelming for me and I had a panic attack (which I do get every once in a while and I wasn’t shocked I got one with the intensity of this situation).
She eventually left.
After this, I told my fiancé I did not feel comfortable having her at our wedding. And that I would no longer be coming over to his place cause I didn’t feel safe now
That sounds bad…
My fiancé understands and supports my feelings, but is worried that Beck may choose not to attend if Delilah is not invited.
My dad has suggested I should invite her to avoid conflict and my brother says I’m being selfish for not inviting her because my fiancé might not have his brother at his wedding
I want Beck there, but I also do not feel like I could feel comfortable or relaxed around Delilah, and I’m struggling with the idea of her being present at my wedding.
AITA for not wanting to invite her?
GEEZ! That sounds like a red flag.
Why can’t they talk about this situation with Beck and get his opinion?
Let’s find out what folks on Reddit think about this one.
That’s right! This user knows a wedding party is not where Delilah should be.
This user thinks Beck is equally at fault!
This user knows the couple is the problem and not just the lady.

That’s right! This user knows uninviting them both is the only way out.
This user knows this is a huge MAYBE.
Somebody should make things clear with the family.
