Most people appreciate a simple thank you, but not everyone thinks it’s worth starting an argument over.
That became a problem for one man after he held the door open for a couple walking into an ice cream shop.

AITA for saying you’re welcome when someone didn’t say thank you.
My wife and I were walking into an ice cream shop on Yonge St. in Toronto.
After my wife walked in, I held the door open for a couple.
As they walked past me, they didn’t say thank you, so I proceeded to say, “You’re welcome,” sarcastically.
The other guy didn’t take it lightly.
The husband turns around and says, “What?” and I said, “You didn’t say thank you after I held the door open for you.”
He then proceeds to say, “You better look after yourself,” and I end it with telling him to watch his mouth.

AITA???
Wow! Bad attitudes all around!

They both handled this badly.
The couple probably should’ve said thank you, but making a sarcastic comment over it was only asking for trouble.
Then the husband took it even further by turning around and making things threatening.
All of this over someone holding a door. Yikes.
