What would you do if your neighbor blocked your driveway with their car, making it impossible to get your car out?

In this story, one homeowner was in that exact situation, and it seemed impossible to get anyone to help.

Eventually, the homeowner decided to talk to the neighbor. That didn’t go so well. Keep reading to find out what actually (kind of) worked.

Neighbors keep parking in my driveway

A few months ago, my neighbors kept parking their car blocking my driveway.

My neighbor threatened legal action against me for defamation.

They continue to park in front of my driveway. so I resorted to leaving notes on their cars.

How frustrating!

I called the city. I called the police. I called everyone I possibly could, and I was told to call someone else from literally every single person.

The towing companies told me that I needed a police report.

The police told me that I needed to call the city.

The city told me to call the police and it was just this redundant circle.

It gets worse.

About three months ago, I completely snapped and decided to go knock on their door.

This turned into a complete blowout argument that ended up with the cops being called.

I don’t know if I mentioned before, but I live in Los Angeles.

The cops never ended up showing up. (I didn’t call them).

OP had an idea.

I started leaving my trash cans in my driveway, which they would move into my driveway so they could park their cars in front of my house.

I started over filling my trash cans so that it would be more of a hassle to move.

They didn’t care.

She needed help.

Two months ago, I hit my complete breaking point and called my parents, they both live out of state so they had to make a trip to come here.

I felt like a complete failure as a grown adult having to call my parents to come deal with this.

My father had a conversation with the man that lives next-door and he promised to talk to his wife and change things.

The neighbor seemed to want to start over.

About a day after this, she comes to my front door and apologizes formally and asks for us to be friends.

Ridiculous isn’t it? Anyways, I agreed with her request for hope for some semblance of peace.

I’m not even kidding you two days later they park a mother fing moving van holding two dirt shoveling, land mover things.

When I texted her (she gave me her number over the “let’s be friends” conversation) she insisted that it was the company and she would let them know right now.

The problem continues.

Since then, they often park their cars where it’s just barely blocking my driveway it’s still possible for me to pull my car out, but it’s much more of a hassle at six in the morning.

I don’t even know what to do at this point.

We absolutely hate each other and they’re just doing it out of spite.

This is ridiculous!

Also, before everyone tells me just to park my car in the driveway. Part of my driveway is connected to the side walk and they called parking enforcement and literally got me a ticket for being parked in my own driveway.

Literally sounds like I’m lying, but this is actually my life and I’m kind of losing my mind lol!!!

I don’t know how they can get parking enforcement to come, but I can sit on the phone with them for three hours just for them to tell me to call someone else but I get a ticket for parking in my driveway.

It does seem crazy to get a ticket for parking in your own driveway; however, I can understand it if the car is blocking the sidewalk. But it’s even more crazy that the neighbor seems to think there’s nothing wrong with blocking OP’s driveway. The neighbor is the one who deserves a ticket.

Let’s see if Reddit agrees.

This person has some advice.

Another person seems to think that persistence will pay off.

One person has a question.

Here’s another suggestion.

The neighbor is being awful. How hard is it really not to block someone’s driveway? If the neighbor won’t stop, OP needs to call a tow truck. That will clearly send a message the neighbor might take seriously.
