If you were working as a server at a restaurant and a bunch of teenagers were sitting at one of your tables, would you expect them to be polite and respectful or rude?
In this story, one server is in this situation, and the girls sitting at one of her tables seem to be the definition of mean girls. Not only are they rude to her, but they also leave a huge mess behind.
It gets even worse after she’s thinks they’ve left, but in the end, she gets her revenge.

Table of kids give me grief, tip 10%, then return to ask for the tip back because they did not have enough money to see a movie. Oh and they forgot something…
It was a Saturday night and as usual we got a lot of younger people coming in to eat.
I was sat a four top of girls around the age of 15, they told me they were going to a movie after dinner.
They ordered a bunch of burgers and from the get-go were awful.
Here are some examples of things the girls said and did.
They complained about the temperature of two of the items (they were made right), so back they went for a replacement.
They made a joke about my uniform and how unflattering it was, giggling at me.
Another girl claimed her coke was regular and not diet and rolled her eyes at the idea of making such a dumb mistake.
Nothing I did pleased them and I remember thinking it was pretty sad for kids so young to act that way.
The girls finally left, but they left a mess behind.
When dinner was over, I dropped the check. It’s fifty bucks or so, they leave $55 in cash.
I return to the table, see my whopping 5 bucks and think, ‘well, at least I got something” as I start to clean the table. It’s a mess, water everywhere, one of them had ripped up napkins and left little papers all over the seats and floor and for some reason they’d taken all the sweetener packets out and tossed them around.
Just then I see something they had left behind – a little pink retainer. I put it in my apron and continue to clean the table. My plan is to give it to my manager in case they come by later to pick up.
But they hadn’t actually left yet.
Just as I’m done, the hostess calls me up front.
I enter the lobby and standing there are the 4 girls I had just waited on. I figure they are there for the retainer but before I can open my mouth one of the girls speaks:
Girl: We made a mistake.
Me: Mistake?
This is so rude!
Girl: Yes, see we tipped you but then we realized that we don’t have enough money for the movie now. So we’d like to get our tip back.
Me: You want your tip back?
Girl: Yes. It was only five dollars and you didn’t really deserve it. Our food was cold, remember? And you don’t know the difference between diet and regular.
I think about the retainer in my pocket. They don’t seem to know it’s missing yet. Finally I shrug and pull a five dollar bill from my pocket.
She got her revenge.
Me: Sure, here ya go. Enjoy your movie.
Without a thank you they snatch the money and are gone.
I return to the kitchen, pull the retainer from my apron and toss it in the trash.
The next morning, the girl returns with her father looking for her lost retainer. The MOD calls me at home to ask about it. Did I happen to see it on the table?
I tell him, no I sure didn’t. What a bummer for them!!
What’s sad about this is that the revenge was only on one of the girls when it should’ve been on all of the girls, and they don’t even know it was revenge. Really, the girl’s dad is the one who has to pay.

This server also threw something away.
Another server threw something even more important away.
This person would’ve kept the tip.

Those teenage girls were certainly rude. I wish they knew the consequences of their actions. They probably won’t learn anything from what the server did because they don’t actually know she did it. While I’m sure it made her feel better, is it really revenge if the person you’re getting revenge on doesn’t know it’s revenge?
