Sometimes, people forget that leaving their stuff somewhere doesn’t automatically make it theirs.

One woman ran into that problem while trying to find a place to eat with her boyfriend and three-year-old daughter at a crowded water park.

With no open tables anywhere, she carefully moved another family’s bags to the side and sat down for a quick lunch.

A few minutes later, the family came back and made it clear they expected her to leave because they had claimed the table earlier.

She tried pointing out that reserved seating was available elsewhere in the park, but nothing she said seemed to help.

AITA for trying to sit at a table in a water park where someone has left their bags/towels?

My boyfriend and I took our 3-year-old daughter to a water park today. We were trying to find a table to briefly eat lunch, and nothing was available.

I decided I would carefully move another family’s bag and lunch box to the edge of the table, since they were elsewhere in the park and for who knows how long, so we could sit and eat for a little while.

After 5 mins or so, they came back and sat down next to us, saying nothing.

The woman didn’t care what she had to say.

I said, “Sorry, there was nowhere else to eat at a table, and we figured no one was sitting here.”

The wife/mother of the family said that they had been there since the park opened and we should go try to find seating elsewhere.

She also argued that everyone else was leaving their bags at tables unattended, and we should try to get here earlier next time.

Then, her husband joined in.

I mentioned that the park has cabanas and day beds for purchase for people that want to have reserved seating for the whole day. She could not care less what I had to say.

The husband/father started inching closer next to my boyfriend and crowding him.

We left and got some snacks to eat on a bench while our daughter finished eating in the stroller wagon.

AITA?

Yikes! Entitled people like that are the worst.

Let’s see what the readers over at Reddit think about what she did here.

This reader thinks she was wrong for moving their stuff.

The woman is a hero for this reader.

According to this comment, you never move someone’s stuff.

As this person points out, you shouldn’t do what they tried to do.

These people should’ve known better!

You cannot place your personal belongings on a first-come table and expect to hold the spot all day.

What they should’ve done is follow her advice and pay for a reserved spot. That’s why they exist.

Sheesh. Some people have a lot of nerve.
