Nothing tests your patience like a stranger who’s wrong and loud about it.

One employee headed out to sit in her car during her break, only to find an older pickup crammed against it with the driver’s door hanging open in her way.

She stopped and waited for the man in the seat to notice, but despite her timid approach, he lost completely lost it on her, cursing at her through the window for not speaking up first.

Hours later, hands still shaking at work, she wonders if she made the right call.

AITA for not saying excuse me to someone in a pickup truck blocking my car door with his door?

I was just walking out to sit in my car for my break at work, and an older pickup truck had parked very close to my car, had someone sitting in the front seat, and had his driver’s side door open, blocking my driver’s side door from opening.

I walked up, didn’t say anything, and stopped for a second, waiting for him to notice me.

That’s when the truck driver spoke up.

He then became very agitated, started yelling and cursing at me through his window, and stated, “IT’S CALLED EXCUSE ME!”

Soon the woman began to fear the worst.

I do not like to talk to strangers because there are aggressive wackos out there, case in point.

For all I know, this stranger could have blown up at me for saying excuse me, danged if you do, danged if you don’t.

This interaction really impacted her.

Now I am sitting at work with anxiety hand tremors again.

I cannot say I have PTSD because I have never gone out and been diagnosed, but I do have several symptoms of it, such as anxiety-induced hand tremors, stress-induced fasting, and sleeping problems.

And my point is, I shouldn’t have to deal with this. I took a picture of his license plate in case I need to file a police report later.

AITA?

This sounds like a scary interaction.

Redditors chime in with their thoughts.

This stranger quickly proved he wasn’t skilled at regulating his emotions.

This user thought other redditors were getting this judgement completely wrong.

Actually being in this situation is much different than judging from afar.

This woman did the most polite thing a person can do in a parking lot, which was to wait patiently, which is something this truck driver clearly knows nothing about.

Considering his manners, demanding an “excuse me” when he was the one in the wrong is pretty rich.

You can’t trust all strangers, and this whole story was Exhibit A.
