An Underground Railway Line in London Was Used for Mail Delivery

YouTube video player

Between 1927 and 2003, the Mail Rail operated below the city of London and only carried mail bags to be delivered. Because of this, many people who live in London don’t even know that it exists.

The Mail Rail ran 80 feet below the city streets and carried up to 30,000 mailbags each day. Today, the Postal Museum has taken its place.
