Bill Gates Gets Destroyed in Chess. Still the World’s Richest Man

It took all of 80 seconds but in fairness the situation is a little loaded. His opponent is Magnus Carlsen, the 23-year-old chess prodigy who is currently the reigning World Chess Champion and No. 1 ranked player in the world. His peak rating of 2872 is the highest in chess history.

He’s also playing on a nationally televised talk show in front of a live studio audience where he’s expected to play quickly; as watching live chess is probably not considered the most ‘riveting’ television.

Gates is also more of a bridge player after his pal Warren Buffett got him addicted in the late 90s. In other news, Gates’ 2014 Annual Letter is worth reading.
