Houston FD Makes the Most Amazing Last-Second Rescue You Will See Today

by twistedsifter

On 25 March 2014 the Houston Fire Department saved a worker from the top floor of a burning building. The apartment complex was still under construction so many fire safety features like sprinkler systems and fire-retardant materials had yet to be installed.

The video, uploaded by user Karen Jones, was filmed from a building on the AIG campus near the scene of the fire. Thankfully all construction workers were accounted for and no injuries have been reported. It took the fire department nearly three hours to get the blaze under control.

The Sifter salutes all the hard-working men and women of fire departments around the world that put their lives at risk for the safety of others.
