A scuba diver at Manta Point off the coast of Nusa Penida, Bali was hoping to see some mantas and jellies but was instead greeted by a sea of plastic and trash, brought in by the tide.
The diver reports that the next day ‘what the currents bringeth, the currents taketh away’ as divers at Manta Point reported no plastic or trash at all, just some mantas and jellies that he was hoping to see. Sadly, it doesn’t mean the plastic disappeared, it just continued on its journey elsewhere into the Indian Ocean.
