A group of whale watchers off the coast of Tadoussac, Quebec (at the confluence of the Saguenay and St. Lawrence rivers) got the experience of a lifetime when a giant fin whale surfaced right in front of their small inflatable boat (known as a Zodiac).
Even the boat operator said he had never witnessed anything like it in his 15 years as a guide. You can read more about the amazing encounter on CBC News.
