When Lee Samantha was pregnant with her second child, she began making food art in an effort to encourage her elder daughter to eat independently. If she could achieve this, it would make the impending birth easier to manage. That was 2008, since then Lee’s food art has evolved and garnered her a massive following.
With a staggering 321,000+ followers on Instagram and a growing Facebook page just shy of 25,000 likes, people around the world love to know what Lee will make next.
The Malaysian artist says she sketches her designs before making them with food to stay organized and prevent food wastage. Her ‘tools’ include scissors, knives and toothpicks; and she says she likes to make practical dishes that others can follow and try themselves.
In a recent interview with ABC News, Lee says she cooks everything from scratch and it generally takes 60-90 minutes from start to finish to cook and create a dish.
